Nigeria and Benin Republic have jointly agreed to rehabilitate the stretch of road linking Badagry to Cotonou.
President of Benin Republic, Boni Yayi, who spoke through an interpreter after a meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential Villa in Abuja Monday told State House correspondents that there are high level consultations between the Nigerian Customs Service and Benin Customs on the issue and many others.
He said the meeting between the two customs services would collate all the problems, stressing that the issue of the Badagry-Seme road was being given top priority “because that road is now in bad condition and it needs rehabilitation.”
Both Presidents gave their consent for the project to kick off with Yayi commending President Jonathan who he said gave his unflinching support on the rehabilitation of the road because of the priority given to the hitch free movement of persons which is very essential to the promotion of international trade and commerce.
Pledging to work through a joint commission to boost the prosperity of their respective countries, the presidents said they will execute infrastructure projects like road network and railway system and airport infrastructure.

Also put a Check on the Security Operatives at the Borders too.
