Nigerian Christian Woman sues over Sabbath working Day.

Celestina Mba: success for her case would establish new religious rights

A DEVOUT Christian is mounting a test case in the Court of Appeal this week for the right not to work on a Sunday.Celestina Mba, 58, a children’s care worker, will argue that an employer has a duty to “reasonably accommodate” the beliefs of a Christian employee.

If she is successful it would establish new religious rights in the workplace and could enable many other Christians to refuse to work on a Sunday in order to observe the Sabbath as a day of rest. It is the fourth of the 10 commandments in the Old Testament.

Shopworkers are already guaranteed the right to refuse to work on Sundays but people in other sectors can be required to do so if their employer can prove a legitimate business need .Campaigners hope this case will mark a victory for Christain Values.

That will be nice, what do you think???
